How to remove soot from ceiling and walls?

Hi all,

We recently had a small fire in our room and there is soot on the ceiling and wall (smoke damage)

What is the appropriate product to clean them please? We tried to wipe it off with water but apparently does not work.

Thank you very much451952312_1406745060727828_9160986481402704023_n.jpg453234917_402265515653813_1192538814902215937_n.jpg453388363_1682155702598648_2049457603263979779_n.jpg

Re: How to remove soot from ceiling and walls?

Hi @Vegemite,

I'm so sorry to hear about the fire. I imagine this was quite distressing for you and your family.

Soot can be particularly difficult to deal with, especially if it is left sitting on the walls.

To begin with, any workaround soot should be done while wearing a mask or respirator to ensure your health and safety.

Start by vacuuming the soot with a brushed attachment to remove all the loose material.

Once vacuumed, you can use a dry Sabco Heavy Duty Eraser Pad Cleaning Sponge over the material to pick up as much as possible.

This should remove the bulk of the soot, but any tough stains can be removed by mixing equal parts Cleaning Vinegar and warm water and wiping the soot down with a soft cloth.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Jacob
