How to reduce brightness of Arlec bar light?

Hi, 

I recently installed a Arlec 4W 31 cm

Linkable Bar Light on the wall next to my staircase. However, it is quite bright at night, so I'm looking for a solution to reduce the brightness or cover the top of the light. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Jacob,

I decided not to use a polycarbonate sheet for the shroud. Instead, I opted for window tint film, which allows minimal light to pass through. I hope it performs well in the long run.
