How to match Colonial skirting profile?

The 92 mm Colonial skirting board @ Bunnings - comes in MDF and pine.

Are they actually the same profile?

There seems to be a big difference in the curved area?

I must declare however the MDF version seen below is 9 years old.

Maybe the cutters have changed slightly?

Cheers.

Re: Colonial Skirting Profile.

Hi @Noyade,

Sorry for the delay in my reply.

The term Colonial refers to a specific profile style, but while the MDF and pine versions share the same general design, there can be variations between manufacturers. Over time, tooling and cutters may change slightly, leading to differences in the curved detailing.

If used in separate rooms, these variations may not be noticeable, but if installed in the same space—especially if butted up against each other—you’re likely to see the difference.

So, although they are both considered to be the colonial profile, they are not exact matches.

Mitchell
