Hi all, how can I fix this entry door broken frame?
Does it need to be replaced or is there any way I can fix it. Thanks!

Hi @Sam12.
Thank you for your question on how to fix a door frame.
Can you advise what the notch in the frame where the section of timber has fractured is used for? I see that you have a dual striker plate, presumably for a solid door with a deadlock and then you have a single striker plate on the brown section, presumably for a screen door. I can't think of what this additional cutout would be for.
I ask, because if there is an additional door that would need to use this cutout, the repair would likely need to be considerably stronger.
You may have some success by gently opening up the fracture using a chisel or flat head screwdriver and then applying a strong wood glue such as Gorilla Wood Glue Ultimate and clamping with Craftright 2 Piece Quick Action Clamp while the glue sets.
If this notch would be used by a security door, or something that needs to be locked, this would not be sufficient as yanking on the door could cause this fracture to reopen. If this is the case, you would need to replace the door jamb, which would likely require the services of a carpenter or door specialist.
Let me know if you have further questions.

@JacobZ This notch wont be used by any door. Seems it was broken while screen door installation.
Yellow one in following image is currently used for screen door. And I need to fill out the blue one (notch) with some advice. Thanks!
Hi @Sam12,
With this being said, you can definitely go ahead with the repair to the fractured timber as stated above.
Once the glue is dry and suitably secured, you can fill the notch with Builders Bog following the manufacturers recommended mixing ration. Once dry, sand the builders bog back to a smooth surface using Flexovit 120 Grit Timber Sandpaper Roll before painting to match. This will fix the fractured timber and fill the hole, with the paint covering everything up so it blends in with all of its surroundings.
Let me know if you have any further questions, I am happy to assist further.
