To change old internal sliding door into swing bedroom door, what will be the procedure? What's main challenge?
Hi @Honest52,
To change an old internal sliding door into a swing door, the first step is to remove the sliding door and its track system. This involves lifting the door off its track, unscrewing any components, and detaching the rollers. Once the door is removed, the next task is to assess the door frame. Sliding doors typically have narrower frames, which may not be suitable for a hinged door, so you’ll need to ensure the frame is wide enough to accommodate the new door jamb. In some cases, you may need to widen the door opening or modify the frame by removing trim or reframing the sides and top.
Once the frame is prepared, you can install the hinges on the door and the door jamb, ensuring that the swing door is aligned properly and swings smoothly. Another key consideration is selecting the right door hardware, such as hinges, a doorknob, and a latch.
The main challenge in this process is ensuring that the frame is properly adjusted to fit a hinged door, as sliding doors are designed with a different mechanism and typically have a smaller frame.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

The cheap internal door is curved and need extra work to fix it.
Buy good quality internal door for easy installation rather than the cheap one for $57
