How to support foldable bedframe in campervan?

Hello there!

I almost finished my bed in my car (french backpacker, sorry for my english) but there is still the foldable extension that annoys me. I tried to fix some sliders to sustain this but it isn't solid. I have a hole where I can put a M6 bolt to fix something where my finger.m is Any idea without losing too much space?

Thanks,

Nicolas

Re: Foldable extension for bedframe

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Gatosec. It's brilliant to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about a foldable extension.

It sounds like you're looking to support the corners of the folding section of your bed frame. A simple and effective solution is to cut two pieces of 42 x 42mm pine to the exact height from the platform to the floor. Attach a hinge to the top of each piece and secure the hinge to the underside of the folding platform, positioned at the corners.

When you fold the platform up, the supports will fold flat against it, and when you lower it, gravity will allow the supports to swing down into position, holding the platform steady. This design keeps it functional and compact without taking up extra space.

I've created a rendering to provide a better representation.

Your English is great, by the way; much better than my French.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
