Ceiling Diffuser

I moved in to house recently and I've got this diffuser in shut position and I don't have any clue of how to open it.

Please help

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your ceiling diffuser.

Looking at your diffuser, I don't see any switches or levers so it's highly probable that this is a manually operated diffuser. I propose getting a step ladder and opening the louvers manually by hand. They should technically stay open once put into the open position, but if they start to lean back and close, it might be necessary to use tape or putty to keep them open.
