Hello,
Can you please tell me which splashback is suitable for my kitchen?
Should I use polymer bellessi splashback available in bunnings or it is recommended to use glass filled? The stove is gas.
I have 2 options, either remove the existing tiles and install splashback in glass filled ( heard its better for gas stove
) OR
Keep the existing tiles ( donot remove tiles) and install splashback in ploymer, above the tiles. Thanks for an advise.
Hi @qsf
Merry Xmas
The Bellessi splash back is not recommended by manufacturer for behind gas stove.
How ever the Vistelle salt glass splash back is rated for gas as well as stainless steel splash backs.
The Vistelle splash backs may need you to take you cupboards off the wall and pack timbers 6mm behind them as the glass may need to sit behind them. I dont think they will be cutable. The tiles can also come off too
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @qsf. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about splashbacks.
I agree with @Jewelleryrescue that the Bellessi Polymer splashbacks aren’t suitable for use behind a gas stove. However, we can certainly order in the glass splashbacks designed specifically for gas stoves. Keep in mind that even with these glass options, there needs to be a minimum setback of 50mm from the edge of the cooktop to the splashback for safety reasons.
From the image, it looks like your cooktop is almost right up against the tiles, which would likely rule out using the glass splashbacks. In this case, you might want to consider stainless steel splashbacks, which are a great alternative for gas stoves and don’t have the same setback requirement.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
