Hi everyone
looking for some advice
I recently purchased my first home and was hoping to be able to install a dishwasher in the kitchen. I was wondering if someone could give any advice on if it would be possible? Please note the cabinets to the far left of the photo near the sink is where the hot water heater is so this is not a viable space. Was kind of hoping to look at a slimline one in the corner if I need to get rid of some cabinetry that’s ok
Hello @NicoleGold
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have yo join us, and thanks for sharing your question about where to put your dishwasher.
In order to give our members a better idea of the position of the hot water heater, would it be possible for you to open both kitchen doors on the left? This will give us an idea of the size of the hot water heater. We can then make recommendations about positioning.
If your hot water heater is a compact unit such as the Dux 25L 3.6kW Proflo Electric Storage Water Heater. It might be possible to squeeze the dishwasher in the corner on the condition that there is enough space. My only other thought was the possibility of moving the hot water heater outside your home or the ceiling cavity.
In regards to having it installed on the righthand corner when facing your kitchen, I'm afraid that there is not enough space as corner doors are often around 350mm whereas slimline dishwashers are 450mm wide.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
