How to skim coat wall ready for paint?

We have recently finished a new kitchen install which is is a bit shorter than what was previously there, leaving a section of wall needing repair.

There is a bit going on with this section of wall, part has been patched with render where it had broken off during demolition and what seems to be a really thick paint coating which is flaking off. I am wondering if we cleaned off with a scraper to remove all loose paint etc., is there a product that would be suitable to do a skim coat to flush this ready for painting?

Re: Flushing wall ready for paint

Hello @Matt9

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about fine rendering your wall.

I suggest looking at the Dunlop 20kg Fine Coat Render to give your wall a fine finish. I've placed a video guide below to give you a better idea of how the render is applied. My best advice is to make sure your wall is clean and free of loose debris before applying the render.

Here is a handy step-by-step guide: HOW TO Render a Fine Coat Finish with Dunlop
