I was cleaning my windows and ended up scratching my kitchen window . It is not very visible in the photo. Is it possible to fix it ? I was using microfibre cloth and window cleaner.
Thanks
Hi @anitassn,
Hope all is well.
Are you sure the glass is scratched? I don't think you could scratch a window using a microfibre cloth, but perhaps there was already a scratch there and cleaning the window revealed it.
In the previous discussion How to remove scratches out of window glass? one of our resident Bunnings D.I.Y. experts Mitch recommended the Craftright 7 Piece Buffing Kit. It comes with various felt pads that can be used in a drill and a variety of cutting and polishing compounds. He suggested starting with the white polishing compound, and if you see no results, switch to the coarser brown cut & polish compound. With patience, you should be able to remove the scratches. Avoid the black compound unless necessary, as it will take some work to polish the glass back up again.
Hope that helps.
