Hi, I bought a mixer tap brand new and installed it myself. It was a clearance item and I bought the last one so can't find any info about it online. When I turned the tap on, it leaks profusely from the top of the nozzle (see red arrow). It's a pull out nozzle which seems to be loose where the 'hose' connects to the nozzle. I'm not sure if this is a faulty product or whether I could actually pull the nozzle apart and tighten. Since I bought the last one, I got a really good deal so I don't really want to take it back as I would have to spend at least double on a replacement of a similar model. Pic attached.
Hi @donssimmons,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fabulous to have you with us.
Do you have any information on the make and model of the tap?
Any further information you can provide will certainly help.
The location of the leak makes me suspect there is a loose connection or a missing washer.
Can you find a seam that would indicate two parts can be separated?
If you can, what does twisting it counterclockwise do?
Does it come apart?
If not, can you take some photos of up close to the location of the leak with the water off?
Let me know what you find.
Jacob
Hi Jacob,
I managed to twist apart the nozzle. I had tried already but maybe was twisting the wrong way.
It was a loose connection and I just added another seal and that seems to have done the trick. It's a bit odd as this is a brand new tap. But anyway, problem solved now. Thanks so much for the help.
Donna
Hi Donna (@donssimmons),
I'm so glad to hear you managed to solve the issue.
I hope your new tap serves you well for a long time to come.
