How to fix gas stovetop igniter?
The gas does come up and the igniter does click, however the fire doesn’t turn up. what would the problem be and how would I fix it without changing the whole stove top?
it stopped working after I cleaned 😔
the stove top is separate to the oven.
Thank you

Re: How to fix gas stovetop igniter?
Hi @versusmanu,
It’s possible that the burners may have been put back in the wrong orientation, as even a slight misalignment can block the gas flow. However, as this involves gas and ignition, it’s essential to be very cautious. Working with gas appliances can be dangerous, especially if there’s a risk of gas leaks, so it’s always safer to consult a professional.
The best first step is to reach out to the stove’s manufacturer for specific troubleshooting advice. They may provide simple checks or steps that don’t require disassembly, which could be all you need. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, I’d strongly recommend enlisting a qualified appliance service professional. Gas stove repairs should only be handled by professionals due to the potential risks of gas leaks and fire hazards. Avoid further attempts to fix the igniter on your own to ensure your safety and the appliance’s proper function.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Re: How to fix gas stovetop igniter?
Hello @versusmanu
"igniter does click"
With the click do you see a spark? Have you tried all five burners?
Is the oven igniting without problems?

Re: How to fix gas stovetop igniter?
@Noyade. No spark, the other 5 are fine, although some of them takes a bit for the gas to come. The igniter is a bit loose
can you see the igniter on the bigger fireplace is perhaps broken? It looks cut off compared to the other ones (see pic 2) .
could this be the issue?
the oven is electric and working fine.
thank you for helping
