Re: FBI recycled timber cabinets

Hello @Dcz5

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's lovely to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your recycled timber cabinets.

Your first cabinet really caught my eye, is that a recycled stone slab you've routered into the timber or is it just a very large tile that looks like a stone top? Would it be possible for you to post more photos of the cabinets you've built? Especially the first one as it looks very functional. Would you be able to tell us a bit about how these cabinets came to be?

Any other information you can share about the building of the cabinets would be very much appreciated.

We look forward to seeing more pictures of the cabinetry.

Eric

Hello Eric, I didn’t explain the FBI very well, sorry. It’s designed for the bbq area, although it lends itself to an island bench for the kitchen as well, especially the triple (which is what it was made for). The single is on castors so it can be moved closer to the bbq if needed. Has a drawer on both sides, and the cupboard underneath is reminiscent of meat safes, two doors back and front so it’s accessible both sides, enclosed with gauze. The idea being you can store the raw meat in it while the hot plate is readied, and then cooked meat etc can go in there until it’s ready to be eaten. I live in Thargomindah, Far SW Qld, flies are an issue😊 has a tea towel rack also. I was given some bench top off cuts, which is what I used for the top and determines the size of the FBI. Others I have made have timber tops. I’ll send photos of others I’ve built.
Cheers,
Deb

The top photo is a washing machine (twin tub) and basin cabinet, with close down lids and cupboard underneath the basin.
