DIY kitchen renovation
I purchased my first home in 2021 and it was my DIY dream. The plan was to slowly update the house but the kitchen just filthy/rotten and I couldn't live with it the way it was.
DIY time!
All the kitchen cupboards were ripped out. (I repurposed the mini pantry in my shed)
The ceiling was removed in the kitchen/living because it was sagging due to age.
All new gyprock and cornice was put up.
All the flooring came up, which was tiles in the kitchen area.
Then the fun part. Assembling all the cabinets. I love a good flat pack. I used the kaboodle kitchen to design the space and it was so fun to use.
The flooring was layed.
Upper cabinets were attached to the wall.
Benchtop was installed.
I ordered my splashback tiles and then procrastinated for months about actually doing the tiling myself.
Finally decided to just do it. Mini subway tiles... so many tiles. But it all worked out in the end.
I'm so happy with how my kitchen has turned out. It all wouldn't have been possible to do without my dad helping me. Xx

Re: DIY kitchen renovation
Hello @RebeccaF
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's a pleasure to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your kitchen renovation.
What a beautiful transformation, the effort you spent on the mini subway tiles is worth it. It looks like it just came out of a magazine. For a moment there, I thought you were asking your pup to choose which tile to use. Your flooring and benchtop choice really compliment each other. How long did it take to complete the entire makeover with the ceiling included?
Again, thank you for sharing your wonderful kitchen makeover.
Eric
