What mesh for training wisteria up pole?
Hiya any ideas on the best products to put on this post to help the Wisteria climb up it please? Thanks

Hi @Hazza,
My immediate thought was to wrap the post in a plastic mesh such as this Jack 50 x 50mm 1200mm x 10m Supa-Net and then zip tie it around the post at the bottom, middle and top of each section so it is held securely, but the in-between sections are loose enough for the wisteria to climb.
This method would mean there are no hard materials that will easily scratch the post and there is no damaging hardware such as screws that would leave holes in the post.
This is one possible solution.

A very practical solution from Jacob! The other suggestion would be to make a cylinder of the mesh Jacob recommends and then zip tie it together around, but not touching, the post - say a circle around 400mm in diameter. It will surround the post and allow the wisteria to climb without making any contact with the post.
