We were required to plant these bushes by the Council. They are difficult to trim with most tools, I can do it a bit with garden shears but it's laborious and we have many of these on our property. I have most of the Ryobi 18 volt tools and am thinking about buying the 18 volt hedge trimmer with the hope that it will make this trimming task easier. These glass blades on these plants are quite sharp which only adds to the difficulty. Not even sure what this plant is called.
Upon posting I can see that the photo is not great but just after some general advice on how to trim and keep these plants at bay. I was hoping that a power tool might do the job faster but if there are better ways I'd love to hear them.
Hello @tigerzen
I suggest looking at the Ryobi 18V ONE+ Hedge & Grass Shears R18HTR130 - Tool Only. It's part of the ONE+ set so your current batteries should work on it. The only other tool which is similar is the Ozito PXC 18V Grass Shear & Hedge Trimmer 2.5Ah Kit PXGHSK-2518 - which has a hedge, and a shear head included. The rest of the trimmers are too long and too large for your plants.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Thanks Eric, I was looking at the hedge trimmer as I do have some bushes that also need trimming, I do like the grass shears but I wouldn't want to purchase both these tools for just the occasional usage.
Hi @tigerzen
You're absolutely right, I'll leave the choice up to you as to which tool you feel will serve your needs best.
