How to stop Pencil Pine dying?
Hi!
I’ve just moved into a new property that has a few pencil pines. Over the last couple of weeks I have noticed one of them dying from the top first and spreading down.. is this something that can be fixed or am I better off getting it removed so it doesn’t spread to the others? Not sure if it’s canker.

Re: How to stop Pencil Pine dying?
Hi @Grace123,
Thank you for your question and welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
It certainly looks like it could be canker which causes dieback from the top of the tree downward, along with visible cankers and oozing resin.
Much of what can be done is about stopping the spread, which due to the height of the tree, I would not advise is a D.I.Y. job.
I'd suggest you contact an arborist who specialises in tree care as opposed to removal for their assistance and recommendations.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Jacob
