How to kill a tree stump?
Morning. Thanks for all your help yesterday. I have managed to destump some 15 cm diameter pine and a tropical tree too. Patience and a good crow bar and plumbers shovel did the trick. Clearly, it's not possible to remove main tap root. Should I layer the cleared area with anything to potentially prevent root growth. Cheers. Stephen

Re: destumping trees
Hi @StephenBrookes,
If a tree wants to sprout, then it's difficult to prevent that, as weed mating might not be robust enough. The best method to prevent the sprouting is to ensure the plant is dead. I'd suggest drilling into the remaining roots in several locations with an 8-10mm drill bit and filling those holes up with Round-Up. The poison will be sucked into the root killing it off.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
