How to fix Buffalo grass covered in weed?
My lawn is covered in this weed I’m presuming? It’s has a purplish flower. I’m wondering if I should just mow it or is it a problem I need to address in a different way? Thank you 🙏🏻

Re: Buffalo Grass covered in weed?
Hi @smasshmurphy,
I have some great news for you! That's not actually a weed; it's the seed pod of Buffalo lawn. The reason you're likely thinking it's a weed is you might never have seen them before. Buffalo has a weird habit of spontaneously going to seed once in a blue moon. You might go 25 years and never have it produce the seed pods. My father-in-law's lawn has never produced them in over 40 years, whereas my brother-in-law's lawn has them every few years.
There are no worries about just mowing the lawn.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
