How do I apply granular fertiliser for my plants in the garden bed?

I am not adding liquid fertiliser. It's granules. I am new to gardening and appreciate some basic tips and tricks to start using fertilisers for my plants.

Re: How do I apply the fertiliser for my plants in the garden bed? Do I need to remove the mulch?

Hi @karthickvs,

Thank you for your question and welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is wonderful to have you with us.

Watering will break down the granules and release the nutrients into the soil, so it is best that it is mixed in with the soil so the nutrients don't have to travel through the mulch layer. There's no need to remove the mulch, but it is worth mixing the granules into the mulch with a small hand rake such as this Saxon Hand Cultivator With Thumb Grip.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Jacob
