How to repair damaged limestone blocks?

Hi,

I recently installed a clothesline and accidentally drilled too deep into the limestone blocks, causing some damage in the garage. What would be the best way to repair the blocks?

Re: How to repair damaged limestone blocks?

Hello @Danotorious1

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. it's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about your limestone wall.

I propose filling the damage with Parfix 500g Ready To Use Multipurpose Filler - 500g. In order to match the surface features, I suggest using a toothbrush to stipple the surface so that it looks like the limestone surface. Once the filler cures, you can slightly sand it down to get semi smooth finish. The final step will be to paint the surface so that it matches the colour of the limestone wall.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric

Re: How to repair damaged limestone blocks?

Hi @Danotorious1 I also highly recommend the Parfait filler as @EricL has done. It's my go-to filler that is easily used and can be sanded and shaped as it hardens. Overfill the holes first, then after an hour use a flat wide metal spatula to scrap the top layer level against the brick/blocks. Then scratch the top few mm up and let fully dry. Then apply a filler coat and texture finish as your feather the filler out past the edges of the cracks as Eric suggested.
