Our garage opens onto a slope and when it was built the garage door not custom built. There is 13ft where the gap ranges from 1-6.5 inches. The previous owners installed some “thick” material to block (but not seal) the gap. This does not stop things getting in or out (ie the dog/kids)…
We are trying to come up with a way to seal the gap with something solid that can’t be pushed to the side . Possibly a long piece of wood cut to measure / angle and drilled on?
appreciate any advice / suggestions
Hello @KirstG
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your garage floor.
My apologies for the late reply. Your suggestion of putting an extra panel at the bottom of your garage door sounds feasible. I propose looking at your garage door and see if you find a manufacturers sticker. If you find one, give them a call and see if they can customize a panel to go at the bottom of the door.
In this manner the bottom panel will fold correctly and work with your existing garage mechanism.
My other suggestion is to engage the services of a driveway specialist and add concrete to modify the approach to your garage. I suspect that the builder at the time perhaps forgot that the approach needed to be level.
Let me call on our experienced members @Dave-1 and @Nailbag for their recommendations.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Good Evening @KirstG
Kinda a pain I must admit. I like that rubber strip Idea but like you it dosnt keep it secure 😕 I also think @EricL is on the right path with contacting the manufacturer and asking them, That way the door will matchy match.
The last option I can think of is for a piece of aluminium that is bent in the shap of an "L" with the short base that will fit the width of the bottom panel of the door. You could drill and then poprivet the piece to the bottom, not sure how it would be as the door raises is my only concern. You could also incorporate an inchg of rubber along the bottom so it dosnt have to be exacty and wont be a sharp edge. Your rubber piece that is there is a templet to be able to make the lightweight angled piece.

Hi @KirstG I think both @EricL and @Dave-1 have the right idea of extending that last panel of the garage door. Personally I doubt the door manufacture is going to help here, but worth asking. Otherwise I would Google a local a local colourbond flashing fabricator to bend you a "U" shaped aluminium section to the matching colour of the door. You will need to supply a drawing. So measure the length, the gap at each end less 10mm for a weather seal and 30mm on the top and bottom return sections. Please refer to the attached photo.
The only thing to first check is will adding anything to the bottom of the last panel hinder how that section opens within the top of the garage door opening. You could make just a small section of my suggestion out of cardboard and attached it with Heavy-Duty tap and see what happens.

Morning @KirstG
Similar thoughts to the above. There are engineering firms around me that laser-cut and bend various metals to your requirements. I'm sure they would be near you as well.
I was thinking a full length aluminium checker plate maybe. But as mentioned a trial 'raise' with a cardboard cutout would be interesting and revealing.
I know little about roller doors - they have senors that allow you to adjust the closing distance?
I would hate to think I have thought up an electric guillotine.
Please share your completed door photos. 👍
Cheers.
