We would like to build up a slope on our driveway by erecting a barrier wall approximately 300 mm high. The idea is to fill the area to be made to form a flat surface but placing cracker dust ( or similar ) and build up to the height required and then top fill with pebbles.
I am considering treated poles like that of a simple retaining wall. Do I use wooden treated uprights or galvanised iron poles to support the structure.
Any comments greatly appreciated.
Hi @Retired1,
I would suggest using H4 treated pine for the entire retaining wall since it can outlast galvanised iron if installed correctly. Here's a helpful D.I.Y. step-by-step article about How to build a retaining wall which I trust you'll find of assistance in the process.
If you have further questions or need assistance with the project, please let me know.
