These barn doors conceal the mess inside a well-used workshop from the view of an outdoor entertaining area and offer protection from weather conditions.

The project

I do a lot of my projects in my shed and open carport but the weather has been awful at times so I decided to make barn doors for my carport. I also installed shutters down the side.

When I was at the local recycled timber yard picking up a few lengths of timber for another project, I came across some nice Oregon timber. I had to design the doors in my head while I selected the lengths of timber I would need to make them. I had enough with one off-cut about 600mm long to spare.

I used v-groove boards to line the doors that I picked up from Bunnings and I ordered frosted safety glass from my local glass supplier to glaze the window section at the top. I painted in Dulux Lexicon Half.

Now when I'm in the middle of a project and I have mess everywhere, it still looks tidy from my deck.

Looks awesome @Beachbox

I’m feeling inspired to make a set of these for an upcoming project where I'm turning my shed into a creator studio.

Keep up the great work! 👍🏼
