An unused space was transformed into an inviting nook with practical storage and a light feature.
My favourite thing to do in a house is create beautiful spaces that also have a practical purpose.
This little nook gave me the the perfect opportunity to turn something that was wasted space into more storage, as well a comfortable spot for enjoying the sun.
This was all I needed to create this space:
I started by making the base from the four 9mm MDF panels, connecting them with screws. I then attached the hinges to the back panel and to the lid. I gave all visible areas two coats of paint.
I created the seat using foam and some fabric I bought specially for this project. You can also use any fabric you already have at home.
I finished things off by adding a wall light to create a more intimate and cosy vibe (for this I got help from a family member who is an electrician).
I love how this project turned out and also how I created space to store all my cushions!
No matter how much room we have, it always feels like we need more storage space. Bunnings Workshop members have shared plenty of great projects that look amazing while keeping things neat and tidy.
Workshop member HousevsSarah used Flexi Storage units to turn a cluttered garage into a beautiful, well-organised storage space for everyday items.
Workshop member Rufaro made a custom timber wine rack that makes great use of an awkward space in the kitchen.

A wonderful example of how to use wasted space and shoehorn in extra storage in your home. Thanks again for sharing this clever project, @lifestylebymari. Love your work.
