These beautiful recycled-timber shelves transformed a kitchen bare spot, adding style and functionality.
I filled a blank wall in our kitchen by putting up some shelves made of beautiful recycled timber.
I sanded the timber and stained it with some black acrylic paint diluted in water for a black-wash effect.
Hubby and I also made the brackets for it using some angle steel, which we cut into sections and drilled holes into for the screws.
The brackets we made were 40mm x 40mm x 40mm, but if you can't make your own these Carinya 40 x 40 x 40 x 3.5mm Zinc Plated Angle Brackets from Bunnings would be perfect.
We used 25mm countersunk-head timber screws to attach the shelves to the brackets, and then used countersunk masonry screws to attach the brackets to the brick walls.
Pretty happy with how the shelves turned out.
