A pergola converted into an outdoor kitchen and barbecue area using Colorbond, timber planks, a benchtop, rangehood, splashback and fresh paint.
The project
Aaron designed, built and completed this outdoor kitchen and barbecue area from scratch, utilising an existing pergola. This project has given us another valuable entertaining and relaxing area with bonus privacy and shelter from incoming westerly rain/wind.
Electrical outlets installed by a licenced electrician.
Steps
Step 1
Marked out and framed.
Then measured and attached Colorbond to outside.
Step 2
Sheeted the framing.
Painted the tongue and groove.
Step 3
Framed the benches and cupboards. Installed the benchtop, rangehood and splashback tiles.
Step 4
Painted cupboards (a whole family affair).
Step 5
Install cupboard doors. Check out how good the barbecue looks.
Step 6
Christen your new outdoor kitchen with a beer and a barbecue.
We’re very proud of it. Aaron's hard work and attention to detail really paid off. Aaron's best advice would be to plan, measure and measure again and don’t be afraid to try.

Hey @touzelfam,
This looks absolutely fantastic.
What a great place to relax in comfort while you're cooking up a storm.
You should be extremely proud of this project. I'm excited to see what else you come up with in the future.

WOW what an awesome space you have created @touzelfam . Love the big smile on your face with the maiden steak cook-up and the one with your daughter lending a helping hand.
Thanks for sharing.
