A laundry and powder room makeover designed to maximise wall storage and add warmth using timber and statement tiles.
The project
The project was to renovate the existing laundry into a modern combined laundry and wash basin facility for the seperate toilet in our home.
Steps
Step 1
We designed the laundry and powder room to maximise on wall storage as the room was only 1800mm long, which was largely the dryer and washing machine. We also wanted to modernise the room adding some warmth and statement tiles.
Step 2
This was the before shot. We then removed the original sink and got a plumber to move all the pluming to our preferred locations (under the bench).
Step 3
We then installed the upper cabinets and built some custom shelving around them. We also framed a portion on the wall above the sink area and installed some VJ panels for some depth and texture.
Step 4
We then installed the laminate benchtop and the bottom 450mm cabinet with a timber panel as a feature.
Step 5
We then installed the vinyl flooring planks over the existing tiles.

Step 6
I then completed the tiling.
Step 7
We then installed some rechargeable strip lighting behind the mirror to add some ambiance to the room.
Step 8
Final result!

Good Evening @diy_hausdesigns
Now that is one Unique powder room! You have given it a very upmarket look.
Love the effort in lifting it out of the dolldrums and think your choice of tiles snaps it together!

Hi @Dave-1
Thank you so much. That's very kind of you. It's been a great functional addition to the house and definitely feels a bit special.
We recently added some shutters to the window and that finished it off.
