This folding workbench maximises precious garage space so there's plenty of room to park the car when it's not in use.
This was my first D.I.Y. project. I used plans from Better Homes and Gardens.
If I were to build this workbench again, I would make it lighter as it's very heavy to lift. The frame was made with 90mm x 45mm timber but I would use 70mm x 35mm to make it a bit lighter and more manageable.

I like the simplicity and great location in the garage, given me inspiration for another work bench for our garage.
Maybe use a small block and tackle and rope to hoist the bench up.
I would keep a strong bench even if rather heavy.
That's some fantastic advice @Bobs_Your_Uncle. It's great to have you join us and a big welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community,
That's a really great idea. We have a fantastic range of pulleys which can be used for this purpose. One of these GRUNT 3mm x 1.8m Rope Ratchet Tie Downs could be used in conjunction with a pulley to half the force needed to lift the workbench.
Thanks for jumping into the discussion. We can't wait to see what else you contribute to the community and please feel free to reach out anytime you need assistance or have something to share.

Looks good! 👍
Hi @Sparky happy to assist if you have questions.
@Bobs_Your_Uncle second that. A strong bench is better than a weak one.
