Paint can make the biggest impact for the lowest cost on a renovation project.
The owners of this house in the hills of Byron Bay were struggling to appeal to the market and sell for their desired price. Buyers were turned off by the colour combination. When the owners got serious about getting a decent price for their house, re-painting was worth it.
We kept the windows blue, but changing the colour of the roof, walls and refreshing the decks made all the difference and the house sold as soon as it was put back on the market. Paint makes the biggest impact for the smallest spend.
The right colour can emotionally connect a prospective buyer to a property. We chose a warm, slightly off white colour which appeals to buyers called Wattyl 'Orchid', and the grey colour is Colorbond 'Basalt'. It was important that the colours were modern, but also complemented the blue windows as it was going to be too expensive to replace them.
The interior walls were freshened and modernised with Orchid white too. We removed the clutter in the living room and changed the Balinese-style furniture for more contemporary furniture.
