This attractive vanity unit makes great use of limited space, with plumbing set flush to the rear for more usable storage.
We wanted a new vanity for the ensuite. To keep the cost down we did the install ourselves.
It was a tight space, so we went for a narrow vanity unit and also put in a medicine cabinet. Most of the plumbing supplies I bought from Bunnings, while the vanity, sink and cabinet came from Ikea.
Below is the old unit, which we sold on eBay.
The plumbing was a challenge as I wanted to push everything to the back to maximise space. In our old vanity unit, the S-trap was right in the middle, which took up so much room. I ended using the Abey PVC connector waste trap and arranged all the plumbing flush to the back. It looks really neat and creates more room for storage.
It's always hard to visualise the final results, but we are happy with the outcome.
No matter what type of bathroom you have, it all starts with planning and research to discover how you can make best use of what is often the smallest room in the house. Bunnings Workshop member beecboy also got a great result while keeping costs down, updating a tired bathroom with a new benchtop, sinks and paint for less than $500.
