Treated Pine and Colorbond sheeting used to make a dog house with a porch as a first-time D.I.Y. project.
The project
I tackled my first solo D.I.Y. project whilst the hubby worked on the landscaping of our house.
Basically, I started off sketching out what I wanted to build, explained it to my husband, and he came with me to Bunnings to help me pick all the right materials.
He showed me how to use the drop saw, and gave me his PPE (personal protective equipment) to use, and then I just went away and started to build it.
Everything I tackled in this project was a first for me. But using the power tools - even though daunting - defiantly helped me speed things along and get a much cleaner finish on my cuts.
Little Miss Ruby couldn't be any happier.
How to build a dog kennel
A dog kennel is a great project to take on as a family and will look great in your backyard. The Bunnings team shows you how easy it is to build and keep your four-legged friend out of the weather in the step-by-step guide How to make a dog kennel.

Community member patorodriguez built a window and even a vent into this dog kennel with ramp and rooftop.
Workshop member Rylie used recycled Pine and a hardwood benchtop to build this dog crate buffet cabinet with sliding door.

That's one A1 job for your first project! It looks a better construction job than my whole house! The big question is ... will Ruby share it when your hubby is in trouble? 😂
Congratulations. All Ruby's pals at the park will want one!
Cheers 🤗
