This attractive, internet-connected studio provides a perfect backyard retreat.
When we needed extra space, this backyard studio kit from SheShed was an affordable solution. It's perfect for a retreat or as an activities room.
My husband, Chris, decided to use a galvanised subframe for the shed. He ordered standard 3m lengths, which he cut down himself to achieve the nine-post design he wanted.
The frame was set on posts that were concreted into the ground. It was all screwed together with 12 x 20mm Tek screws and a cordless drill, all purchased from Bunnings.
The hardest part of the build for us was the preparation of the site, digging the holes and so on. We also needed a trench to connect the power and internet from the main house, which delayed us. The actual studio kit itself was very straightforward when following the instruction folder that came with the kit.
There were many unplanned trips to Bunnings for unforeseen things cropping up or needing new tools for cuts, drilling and so on. Chris purchased galvanised hex screws, a DeWalt cordless drill, a Ryobi multi tool and an Ozito angle grinder just for that job. Chris appreciated the fact that Bunnings has many close locations and convenient opening hours.
