How do you apply deck cleaner?

Cleaning a deck is a relatively simple job. First, wet the entire deck using a hose or pressure washer. The deck must be soaking wet before you apply the cleaning solution.

I recommend using an Oates Long Handle Deck Scrub Brush to clean the deck.

The key to spreading the cleaning liquid is to soak the brush head and lift it immediately to the deck. Do not let the brush head drain out.

One other method is to use a small cup to spread the cleaning liquid on the deck. I don't advise tipping the bucket straight onto the deck as too much will go to waste.

Remember that if the deck is too dry, the solution will not spread very far. That is why you hose the deck first.

You also need to follow the recommended sitting time for the solution on the deck before washing it off. Several applications can be necessary. - EricL
