Two ( 2) vertical mounting pins,- fixed / screwed into the ceramic, - and onto which the toilet seat is dropped.
Are these support pins standardised concerning their length and diameter. Or, do these 2 measurements vary with different toilet manufacturers?
Hi @Mike4,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.
The length and diameter of toilet seat mounting pins are not standardised and can vary between toilet manufacturers and seat designs. While many manufacturers follow common size ranges for compatibility, differences in length, diameter, and thread type exist.
The diameter of toilet seat mounting pins typically ranges between 6mm to 10mm, but some models may vary slightly. The length of the pins depends on the ceramic thickness and seat design, usually falling between 40mm to 70mm. Additionally, the thread type can differ, being either metric or imperial, depending on the brand.
To ensure compatibility, it's best to check the toilet manufacturer's specifications or take measurements of the existing pins before purchasing replacements.
If you can provide some details about what you are trying to achieve, I may be able to assist further.
Let me know what you think.
