How to replace old toilet?

Hi, we have old toilet we want to replace without moving anything or breaking tiles. It is an old style toilet and it is in an apartment with concrete walls and floors. What sort of toilet can we get to replace-please need help as we’ve been told connection cannot change but we don’t know what to buy!!!

Re: Need to replace old toilet

Hello @catval

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about getting a new toilet.

The toilet you have is known as "P" trap configuration. This means that the waste pipe is pointed towards the wall. When you buy a toilet suite make sure it says "P" trap. Some toilet suites have the Universal "S" and "P" trap set available. This means that the unit has a plastic bend that allows it to turn into an "S" trap toilet suite. One of my main concerns is the position of your cistern tap. It is too far into the middle of the toilet suite and will interfere with modern units.

The cistern tap must be moved to the right to allow the toilets cistern to line up with the toilet suite properly. Here is a good example, the Stylus P Trap Allegro Link Toilet Suite WELS 3 Star 6L/Full is adjustable to a certain point and it is joined together with a pipe in the middle allowing the cistern to be placed higher or lower. It only has a short pipe and that is why the cistern tap must be moved out of the way.

For ease of installation, I also suggest checking out Bunnings toilet installation service

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
