Re: Mixer Lock Nut Wrench/ Tool
Hi @andreasie2025,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.
Typically, the lock nut needs to be removed before the cartridge can be removed from the tap, so I'm not 100% certain how you've gotten to this stage without removing the lock nut.
Usually, you would use a shifter or multigrips to remove the lock nut. In your situation, I'd suggest that 2 x multigrips are likely the best solution.
Put some tape or a cloth over the grips to protect the metal from damage. Use one set of multigrips to hold the outer ring which I have pointed out with a green arrow and then use the other multigrips to rotate the brass nut I have pointed out with the red arrow. They should separate from each other if they are rotated in different directions.
If this does not work, can you take a photo of the tap showing where the cartridge would usually sit?
If you know the make and model of the tap, this will also help me troubleshoot the issue and offer you advice.
Let me know how you go.
Jacob
