Hi l had a new shower base and screen installed 2 months ago due to minor water damage on the wooden subfloor which has been repaied. Past 2 weeks l noticed a slight creaking noise when l step on both the base and the bathroom floor near the base , it sounds like its coming from either the back of the base or inside the bottom of the wall behind the base. l didnt have the noise for the first two months after it was installed only started past 2 weeks, could it be possibly due to the change to cold weather or could it be something more serious l should get checked
Hi @Cranswick,
It would be very hard to answer your question definitively. Ideally, the base would be so well supported that you wouldn't hear any noise when placing weight on it. However, if it's an acrylic tray, it wouldn't be entirely out of the question that it could still creak even if it were well-supported.
I don't think there is any cause for alarm, but if you notice any moisture escaping the shower recess, the noise could indicate a more serious issue.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
thanks l think it might be polymarble not acrylic, does that make any differernce to wether in might creak, . the base also creaks when l stand on the bathroom floor nearby not just the base itself . Because the base has been in 2 months and the noise has only just started,, could the change to cold weather be the reason or is that unlikely.
Hello @Cranswick
It's difficult tell what the cause could be, I can only recommend what Mitchell has suggested and that is to keep an eye out for moisture and unusual puddles of water.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

thnaks, l am pity sure the noise comes from the back of the base where the base meets the wall and the noise happens not just when l step on the base but when l step on the bathroom floor a noise comes from the base
