Hi everyone ! Just needing help on how to remove this shower head. I am wanting to replace it but I’m scared I might break a pipe
Hi @andiie21,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you join us.
Many thanks for your question on how to remove a showerhead.
While this is a fairly easy job, if you are not confident in your abilities, it may be worth contacting a plumber to assist. If you wanted to do this, I would suggest using a service like HiPages or True Local to find someone local to your area.
You might like to check out How to change a shower head for some general advice on how it is done.
While not strictly necessary, it's worth turning the water off at the metre before carrying out any work to avoid getting wet.
Use a pipe wrench or multi-grip pliers to unscrew the old shower head from the shower arm. Turn counterclockwise to loosen it. I have circled where it would be best to grip the shower head with your wrench or pliers below.
Once removed, clean the stem to remove any scale or corrosive build-up.
Then apply teflon tape to the stem and screw the new shower head onto the thread.
Let me know if you need any further assistance.
