How to remove bathroom sink tap head?

I'm looking for a little help on how to remove the head off this mixer tap.

Planning to replace the cartridge due to a leak, but after taking this screw out I can't seem to figure how to remove the head. It doesn't seem to pull off, and I didn't want to force it before checking.

Not sure what model/brand this tap is, but does anyone have any experience or suggestions (see photos)?

Thanks!

Re: How to remove bathroom sink tap head?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @bickas. It's fabulous to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about removing a tap handle.

That’s an unusual location for the handle attachment screw, as it’s typically a grub screw found in a hole somewhere around the handle. If that screw was securing the handle to the shaft, then the handle might just need to be pulled upwards firmly. It could be stuck from years of use, so you may need to apply a decent amount of force.

Before giving it a solid tug, double-check the tap for any other screw holes. Try lifting the handle and checking under the bonnet, as some models hide a secondary screw there. If you can’t find any other fixings, it’s likely that you just need to pull the handle straight up to remove it.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
