Hello @peter85
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about matching a shower head for your gas hot water system.
I propose using a single function shower head such as the Flexispray Bermuda Single Function Hand Shower WELS 3 Star 9L/min. Using a shower head with a single function means that the water flowing into it will be singular as well with no sudden change in demand or restriction which is what happens with a multi-function head. Changing functions means changing configurations and water demands inside the shower head. This makes it unbalanced, and the hot water can't flow freely.
Depending on the flow rate of your gas hot water heater and the distance the hot water needs to travel to reach the showerhead, maintaining a consistent flow from the showerhead reduces stress on the hot water heater. This allows it to better manage the demands placed on it.
