It sounds like you need to do some preparation work to remove the peeling paint. You can either start with a paint scraper, an electric sander, a paint stripper, or various combinations. If you can post some pictures of the doors, I can advise further on the best method and approach. 

As for the paint, I'd recommend you use a suitable primer and coat the door with at least two coats of premium paint that is designed to withstand harsh conditions, such as Dulux Weathershield.
