The Bunnings Workshop community can help with your home improvement projects.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @pchass. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about aluminium corrosion.
In the short term, you can remove oxide build-up with a scrubbing brush and a mild mix of detergent and water. The cause of the corrosion is prolonged continuous water contact with the aluminium, so you might like to check out the silicon seals around that area to see if there is a leak in them. Once you've resolved any leaks, you can coat the surface of the aluminium with a clear spray like Dulux 325g Duramax Semi Gloss Clear Spray Paint to prevent water from contacting the surface and forming the white oxide.
Taking another closer look at your image, it appears the aluminium might have completely corroded away at the end. Is this the case? If so, you'd likely need to replace the horizontal aluminium trim piece with a new one.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Do you get horizontal aluminium trim piece to replace in Bunnings?
We have a variety of aluminium profiles and trim @pchass. Are you able to determine the size and shape of the one in place now?
