How to fill/repair cracked tile in the laundry?

IMG_5873.jpeg

Hi, a heavy glass vase was shaken off the washing machine and broke, also cracking the laundry tile. Is there a simple repair that can be done without replacing the tile? Thanks

Re: How to fill/repair cracked tile in the laundry?

Hello @lyndas100

I suggest vacuuming the crack on the tile to remove all the broken pieces that are left inside the damaged section. I recommend using PC-11 56g White Epoxy Paste to patch the damage. Make sure to mix it very well before you push the putty into the crack. Smooth out the surface so that it is almost at the same level as the floor. This will save you from having to sand off the excess putty when it cures.

Please note that the putty dries off white and will not match the colour of your tile. If you wish to paint the surface of the putty, just keep in mind that you will need to touch it up every now and then when it chips or fades away. Make sure to cover the left-over putty very well and store it in cool dry place.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Hi, thanks for this. I was wondering if there was an option with a colour range, rather than just white. Not keen to repaint frequently if possible.

Re: How to fill/repair cracked tile in the laundry?

Hello @lyndas100

I'm sorry but the PC11 putty does not come in a colour range. The other brand called Kneadit comes in a grey colour, and I believe that the PC11 is the best match for your tile. Since the damage is quite small given enough time the patch will loose its new shine and slowly blend into a light grey finish.
