Hi! Whilst renovating our bathroom we unfortunately chipped our bath with either a boot or a ladder whilst painting the ceiling.
How can I repair it?
It’s gloss white and apparently made out of sanitary grade acrylic?
Thanks so much!
Cass
Hello @thecounselsreno (Cass)
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's fantastic to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about your bath.
Unfortunately, sometimes these small accidents catch us off guard. I suggest using PC-11 56g White Epoxy Paste, mix a small batch and apply it to the damaged area. My number one tip is to make sure your hands are very clean before handling the epoxy paste. This will prevent dust and dirt from transferring to the paste. Apply only in the damaged area and feather the edges so that it blends in nicely. The paste can be sanded down if too much is applied, please note that it will dry off white and will not match the finish of your bath.
I suggest going to your local store and grabbing some white paint sample cards from the paint department. See which card is the closest to the colour of your bath. Ask the paint specialist to mix you a small sample pot of the paint you've chosen. Apply a thin coat to the damaged area and slowly build up until you reach the desired finish. The trick to the repair is to find a colour that is very close to the finish of your bath.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please don't hesitate to post them.
