Guest toilet makeover

Hello again,

The guest toilet in our recently bought holiday home desperately needed some attention and working in a space with a footprint of less than 1sqm was the first challenge!

After swapping the old ‘standard’ toilet suite with one that has a hand wash basin (similar to the one at Bunnings: Caroma WELS, I/N: 4820814) I first applied some thin plaster and used a textured paint roller on the upper part of the walls to achieve a stippled look and cover up the previous, uneven filler patches.

This was followed by some bright white paint, rich wood stain and wall panelling (similar to the one at Bunnings: Easycraft Lining Panel, I/N: 0330364) for a Hampton-style wainscoting effect.

The wife took over with the finishing touches and decorations, all from her favorite Swedish furniture and home accessories store, and the end result guarantees a much more pleasant ‘experience’.

I thought I would mention that there are a few quite budget-friendly slimline wall-mounted sinks available, such as the Mondella Rococo Square Flair Wall Hung 1TH Basin RH Bowl, which are suitable for tight spaces.

Hi @MitchellMc thank you for your suggestion. Would this work to put on top of the cistern? There's only 1 water outlet/pipe in our powder room so wanted to have the basin/toilet combo.

Unfortunately, I can't see it being likely without another outlet pipe, but I can't say for certain as I am not a plumber.

You should speak with a plumber to see what is possible. They may be able to offer a solution that will work for you and is within your budget.
