PXL_20240708_071709237_exported_2014_1720423099770.jpg

we purchased this in 2007, and it is supposedly an Ascot Euro shower mixer CP, with code ASM03, and I am getting a leak from the tap, is the cartridge able to be supplied by Bunnings? is there some suggestions to assist with the removal of the handle, the allen screw is out, but the handle still won't come off.

Re: Fixing leaking water from shower handle

Hello @Douglas1

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your shower mixer.

Technically that would be 14 years of service which is quite impressive for a shower mixer. If you have managed to remove the grub screw in the handle, odds are the handle has fused to the cartridge handle because of calcium deposits.

I suggest rocking the handle left to right to try and loosen it up. It might take a while, but the handle will eventually come off. Please note that too much force might break the handle. Once you get the handle off, you'll see the cover flange, followed by the brass locking screw that keeps the cartridge locked in place.

The only way to find out if the cartridge is compatible is to bring it to the store and comparing it to the generic replacement sets available. Please proceed to the plumbing department and speak to the plumbing specialist they'll be able to double check the cartridges compatibility.

If you need further assistance, please let me know.

Eric
