Hello! I am looking to connect my washing machine under my kitchen sink. There is a tap for the inlet and I have been advise by the property manager (I rent) that they have put in an outlet.
I’ve never connected a machine like this before so would like some advice.
I believe I’ll also need to purchase longer hoses for the inlet and outlet and hopefully they’ll both fit through an existing hole in the cupboard.
How do I attach them without leakage? Will there be any issues with flow rate or anything else I should be aware of? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Hello @morrelld
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about connecting your washing machine to the kitchen sink.
To extend the inlet hose of your machine I suggest using Brasshards 20mm Brass Threaded Hexagon Nipple in combination with a Kinetic 1.2m Washing Machine/Dishwasher Double Ended Inlet Hose. Please make sure to use plumber's tape for all threaded connections. For the outlet pipe, I recommend using Toro 19mm Barbed Joiner in combination with Kinetic 2m Grey PVC Washing Machine And Dishwasher Outlet Drain Hose along with Prime 16-27mm Solid Butterfly Screw Band Hose Clamp.
The barbed joiner will join the two outlet pipes together and then the hose clamp will prevent both ends from pulling out. Make sure to double check all the connections before testing them for leaks.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
